a message
Tonight Mike and I heard a homily that was very poignant at church. We have been going through some major life changes and challenges and are not quite sure where God is taking us in our journey as a family. We are not sure where we will be a year from now and have recently been presented with a lawsuit that may or may not put us in a difficult financial situation. These are not the first struggles that Mike and I have endured as a couple nor that I have endured alone. Sometimes the universe seems to have a sick sense of humor when it comes down to what seems fair. But what I gleaned from the homily this evening was that no matter what challenges are before us, we are called to ultimately have faith, to know that we have not been forsaken or been left to walk alone. When Noah saw the rainbow after the flood, God told him that it was his promise that he would never again flood the world and I believe that God will never present us with more than we can handle... even in times that it seems like too much. And in reality I should not be looking at the floods in my life and looking for answers but instead looking to all of the rainbows I have had through my life. My wonderful family, health, friends, opportunities and faith. I have been so fortunate to have found my soulmate, to be educated and to be working in a field that I am passionate about. I hope that I will always look for the rainbows in my life even in the event of a downpour... and if I lose sight of that hope, I hope that I have good friends that will remind me of my blessings and that we are never truly alone

Hey Abby, I finally have a blog...but your words here are SO true. It is so wise for you to see that you must look at the SOLID good things in your life during difficult times. :) It's often hard to see the rainbows through the clouds, but it changes your entire outlook on life when you do!
I am so glad that the homily lifted your spirits yesterday. You have been in my prayers all weekend. While I'm glad we got a bonus day off today, I can't wait until tomorrow to give you a hug in person. I know you will get through this challenge - don't be afraid to ask your loved ones for help, even if it's just a sympathetic ear. We love you!
It's true what they say, "when it rains it pours!" I have LOTS of stories that would make you feel at least a little bit better. We'll have to swap stories in July. :)
It is so true that God will only give us the challenges that He knows we can endure and He knows us better than we know ourselves. =) Life is interesting sometimes, just know that you have friends and family who love you and will support you through anything. =) BTW: Dan and I were sued by one of our tenants for $10,000 {it was interesting to say the least} ha =)
i am sorry we have not visited your blog in a while - we need to get a list of blogs, so we can keep up with everyone. it is not hard, so i guess we should do it.
we hope that you guys are ok, and everything will end up the best it possibly can! thank you for the reminder about the rainbows, sometimes the little (and big) things seem to block my view of the HUGE rainbow in the sky.
Hey Abby, I hope everything works out for you guys. I know you will be blessed as you have faith that the Lord is with you. Life sure gives us crazy turns but it is all in how we deal with it. My prayers are with you. Love keeping in touch with you. Loves!
